CIEMAT, part of Spain’s Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness, is a public research agency for excellence in energy and environment, as well as in many vanguard technologies and in various areas of fundamental research.
CIEMAT will bring to STRATEGY CCUS its expertise from two distinct and complementary research units, namely the Energy Systems Analysis Unit in Madrid; and the Sociotechnical Research Centre in Barcelona.
Its researchers have wide expertise in life cycle assessment methodology, multi-regional input output methodology, social sciences methods for the identification of the key actors, their attitudes, expectations and concerns, and expertise in public and stakeholder engagement methodologies.

The Spanish Cement Association, Oficemen, is a private non-profit association representing an industry with a calling to serve the public, responsible to society and, above all, with a great respect for the environment. Oficemen has maintained an uninterrupted activity since 1925, being one of the oldest business association in Spain.
All the firms devoted to the comprehensive production of cement that have manufacturing plants in Spain form part of Oficemen. Nowadays, the cement industry in Spain is formed by nine business groups and 33 integral cement plants located all over the territory with a production capacity of 32.5 million tonnes of clinker per year.
We endeavour to position ourselves as a modern and efficient sector, a benchmark on a domestic and international level and as a sector that treats people with respect. We also support innovation and sustainable development, working in close collaboration with the Public Authorities, social agents and other industrial sectors, and helping to boost the Spanish economy.
