Its 40 member companies account for almost 100% of the crude oil refining capacity within the European Union. The Association’s mission is to conduct research to provide objective and scientific information, which will assist in the development and implementation of cost-effective and technically feasible, regulations and guidelines.
Concawe endeavours to conduct its activities with objectivity and scientific integrity. In the complex world of environmental and health science, Concawe seeks to uphold three key principles: sound science, transparency and cost-effectiveness.
Concawe supports the European ambition to be climate neutral in 2050 as expressed in the European Green Deal. As such, CCUS is recognised as a key technology to embrace the EU long-term strategy of net-zero emissions by 2050. Concawe is therefore interested to explore further its potential as one opportunity within the different low carbon technologies to reduce GHG emissions evaluated in Concawe’s Low Carbon Pathways programme.
